BIOGRAPHY OVERVIEW
Professor Annie Bartoli is a Full Professor of Business Administration and Management Sciences, and Research Director at ISM-IAE Graduate Business School, UVSQ, University of Paris-Saclay, France. She is also co-founder and member of the leadership team of the Larequoi Research Centre at the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin.
She has been actively involved in academic activities in the United States. In particular, she serves as a Research Professor at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., where she leads executive seminars for international students and managers at the Center for International Education and Development (CIED), in partnership with ISM-IAE and Larequoi. Within this framework, she has conducted research in international and intercultural management for over twenty years.
Since 2021, she has been Editor-in-Chief of the scientific journal Gestion et Management Public (GMP), published in both French and English.
Professor Bartoli obtained her PhD in Business Administration from the University of Lyon (France) in 1983, followed by a Doctorat d’État in Management Science from the University of Bordeaux (France) in 1987. She also earned an MBA from EM Lyon Business School in 1980. Her doctoral research focused on strategic and managerial innovation in organizations, while her post-doctoral work explored key success factors of integrated management models. She graduated with top honors in each of these degrees.
She has held several major academic leadership positions. From 2000 to 2004, she served as First Vice-President (in charge of the Board of Directors) at the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin (UVSQ). In 1998, she co-founded the Larequoi Management Research Center, which she directed for twelve years. She currently leads the MOPTIS (Management of Public Organizations and the Third Sector) research cluster within this center.
Her main areas of expertise include public and non-profit management, with a focus on state administrations, local authorities, and the healthcare sector. Among her numerous national and international publications, Le grand livre du management public (Dunod, 5th edition, 2022, co-authored with C. Blatrix) is a leading reference in France. She also co-edited Responsible Organizations in the Global Context (Palgrave Macmillan), a volume bringing together contributions from over a dozen international scholars.
Professor Bartoli is fluent in French, and English, and is proficient in Italian.
In recognition of her national and international contributions, she has been awarded the distinctions of Chevalier de l’Ordre des Palmes Académiques and Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite by the French Government.
